Printable Dressmaking Metric To Imperial Chart
As we are based in the UK, we give measurements for our sewing patterns in metric units (metres and cenitmetres).
Although the UK went metric in 1965, we know there are still many people who like to use imperial units such as feet and inches. (It was only 1965, we’re still getting used to it, right?).
Also, if you are based in the USA (and a couple of other places), then you’ll still be using imperial measurements having never jumped on the metric train.
It’s very easy these days to convert from metric to imperial using a smartphone (if you have an iPhone, for example, just say “hey, siri, what’s 5 centimeters in inches?” and she’ll tell you).
But for those who prefer something less techy, we’ve provided a simple print-out-and-keep metric to inches conversion table below. Just keep it pinned up in your sewing space and you’ll always have a handy reference for those pesky cm and m’s.
