Welt Pockets are smart, internal pockets commonly seen on more tailored coats and jackets as well as skirts and trousers. They are formed by cutting a hole into the fabric, which can be a bit scary! But don’t worry, in our video tutorial below we’ll take you through all the construction steps of a welt pocket using our Danehill Coat pattern.

Sussex Seamstress is an independent pattern studio, based in Sussex, UK.
